The second singles of the tie will be between Saketh Myneni and world number 13 David Ferrer, as per the draw reported by the International Tennis Federation.

On Saturday, experienced Leander Paes will combine up with Saketh to face French Open champions Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez, the last crisp off a pairs gold decoration with Nadal at the Rio Olympics.

In the opposite singles, it will be Saketh's swing to conflict with Nadal, while Ramanathan will bolt horns with Ferrer.

"It will be intense for everyone. It's a vital showdown with both groups needing to go to the World Group.
